Managed Service Engineer
Alliance Tech, founded in 2000, is a Cyber Security focused IT Managed Service and Cloud Solution provider based in the St. Louis area (Chesterfield). We help small and mid-sized organizations leverage technology and lower costs by providing fanatical IT consulting, management, and support. We are seeking a highly motivated and altruistic go-getter, who has 2+ years of experience in the IT industry, preferably with a managed service provider.
This position is for Managed Service Engineer, who will be providing support to a large customer base with a variety of system configurations. Must be flexible, able to triage problems, and self-motivated. Attention to detail and accuracy is important. In addition to remote support, this position would occasionally require spending time on-site with clients. A neat personal appearance is mandatory, with a charming personality to match. General Responsibilities:
- Provide remote and onsite support to end-users and client IT staff to resolve a wide variety of IT issues
- Support Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Administer client Office 365 accounts
- Perform hardware and software upgrades to servers, laptops, and workstations.
- Troubleshoot cell phone and tablet issues (Android and iOS) including setting up corporate email.
- Diagnose and correct problems with printers or multi-function devices.
- Precisely document problems and resolutions steps
- Onboard new clients on to our Armada management platform.
- Manage and Optimize internal IT management systems and processes
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 2+ years of experience in an IT support role
- A+, CompTIA , MSCE, M365 certifications, or relevant work experience
- Knowledge of computer networking topology and network troubleshooting
- Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, and Active Directory
- Excellent knowledge of WAN protocols and routing.
- Microsoft Office 365 experience
- Experienced with virus/malware prevention, detection, and removal.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, grammar and documentation skills.
- Used ticketing systems before
- Works well in a process-oriented environment.
- Above average written and verbal skills
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Able to communicate technical jargon to non-technical people.
- Able to work with and without supervision.
- Upbeat Attitude and Love helping people!
Bonus Points If:
- Prior MSP Experience
- Familiar with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) systems
- Experience with Sophos security solutions
- Experience with Automating IT processes
- Microsoft SQL Server Experience
- Advanced Networking Experience
- Experience with MacOSx
- Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware
- Experience with terminal servers
- Experience with VOIP systems like RingCentral
- Ever used Wireshark to debug a network problem
